Movie Review: Avatar

Man vs. Man. Man vs. Nature. Two of the most common conflicts mankind encounters on a daily basis is beautifully depicted in this tale of survival; a battle between marines and the Ocinaya people.
If you're familiar with Pocahontas's tale of heroism and bravery, you'd remember how her tribe fought valiantly against Ratcliffe and the European colonizers who came to America to seek gold and invade newfound territories. Avatar's plot is very much similar to that.
What awaits you in this brilliant masterpiece are mythical creatures; a parallel universe lavish with natural resources that fondly reminds one of our planet Earth. The movie premiere is timely as 130 nations across the globe gathers to unite for a common goal: combat climate change at the UNCCC (United Nations' Climate Change Conference).
As a koala campaigner of the AKF (Australian Koala Foundation), Im very much aware that the koala is in dire need of protection from possible extinction. Humans aren't the only species that needs salvation. God created animals
and plants; therefore wh should we leave them out of our plants to save the environment? I can go as far as to enumerate the countless times we chose our race over the rest of Nature. Think about the consequences of such ungodly acts. Can we survive without trees? Would the world be as interesting as it once were if all the phylun=m and genus of flora and fauna disappear within seconds before our very eyes?
After viewing this film, I had this strong yearning to get on a plane to Denmark and ask the nations' leaders and representatives if they are truly ready to give Nature their utmost devotion and attention. special mention: Minister Garrett of Australia! I can't recall the vast number of times I e-mailed you to request you for your consideration in preserving your nation's icon: the Australian koala. President Arroyo! Please strictly implement proper waste segregation nationwide. Secretary Lito Atienza of DENR (Department for Environmental and Natural Resources), instead of orderig your mnions and supporters to taer down the yellow streamers bearing the faces of Ninoy and Cory, focus on your job as an advocate of the environment. Promote the project of the Smokey Mountain residents where they turn recyclable materials into fashionable accessories and jewelry. Lord knows that we don't deserve to live long in this world hemade for us but still He gives ample time to learn from our mistakes and finally take our call to action and get a move on.

DQ (Dairy Queen) Matcha Green Tea Latte

Rating:★★★
Category:Other
Dairy Queen's bestsellers are the Dilly bar, Blizzard and MooLatte. When consumers crave for green tea, they usually grab a bottle of C2 Flavored Green Tea or Nestle 100% Real Leaf Tea with Theanine. For the first time yesterday, I got to try DQ's answer to our local green tea: the Matcha Green Tea Latte.
Are you curious as me as to how they prepare this unique and tasty concoction? They put the tea leaves in the machine that is also used to prepare Blizzard ice cream. Add milk and process it some more until the tea leaves are shredded into bits. Top it off with whipped cream.... Voila! You got yourself a healthy and delicious drink filled with antioxidants and calcium. After all, when has anyone gone wrong with green tea? Health experts have proven that drinking tea aids in proper digestion and helps fight certain diseases.
Next time you feel like having a cup of tea, go to your nearest DQ branch and grab a 9 oz. cup of DQ Matcha Green Tea Latte for Php 45 or a 12 oz. cup Php 95. I guarantee you you might get hooked on it as much as I did.

Christmas-Time Of Year

Remember that Chipmunk song where they want Christmas to come and hurry fast? As for me, I don't want it to come and go so easily. I haven't even started shopping for my godchildren's Xmas presents yet. Most probably it will be coloring books or art materials.

For myself, I'd like to own a pair of Zoo York sneakers, a copy of the latest Steve Berry novel (The Paris Vendetta) and maybe a trip abroad with the family. Mum said we might get to go HK again. This time, we will have a tour of Ocean Park together and possibly ride the cable car and Peak Tram together.

Hmmm.... I'd love to go to South Korea for a change.

23rd Bday and 26th Monthsary

I turn 23 tomorrow and will celebrate 26 months of being a couple with my boyfriend Julius. Mama Lore was confined at Room 716 of Asian Hospital last Sept. 1. Tita Linda and Ate Chin watched over her there and we visited everyday. She refused to undergo angioplasty and prefers taking medication and undergoing a lifestyle change.

The BLA Season 1 crew didn't call me which means I'm not in. Guess I'll just have to watch next month and find out who were lucky enough to deserve a slot. I auditioned for BLA Season 1 last August 15. Woke up at 6:45 am and left the house at 7:55 am. Arrived at SM Megamall Bldg. B around 9:30 am. All in all, the audition was 6 hours long. They interviewed all the participants and did a health check. According to my health check results, I'm 5'2", 183.4 lbs. My BMI's 33.49 and I'm classified under obese class I. For lunch, they served salad, kani salad sandwich, fried chicken, cheese flavored Clover Chips and Tempura chips, Regular Yum from Jollibee and sugar-glazed donuts form Krispy Kreme.

My ever supportive BF took photos of my BLA audition and myself with some fellow contestants I met. Among the celebrities who auditioned were Ruby Rodriguez and Ryan Yllana. This experience showed me that I'm not alone against the battle of the bulge. a lot of heavyweight Asians are passionate and determined to get fit, be active and healthy. Other participants whom I know auditioned are Biggie Estrella, Kahlil Bagatsing and Anna Chan.
